Fender explains in his song “People Watching” how, in addition to the loneliness resulting from the VIP status. On the third release, Sam Fender narrates his journey of transforming from an ordinary worker to the so-called ‘celebrity’ and shares the storeys of loneliness in the midst of growing sores of social distancing. From all the words used by Fender to pass his message, it is respectively possible to deduce the economic hardships and the dilution of culture within the current generation. It therefore should not be a surprise that songs such as “How It Works” have moving storeys just like the “The Real You” songs that makes people relate to and feel something makes people listen. In fact, there are no dramatic shifts in its becoming an indie rock band with Fender as a member and artistically transforms with a new feeling of the guitars intact. Thus in the drama Watching, by narrating the storey of Fender Rutland and real and imagined life experiences of the youths, the notion of identity and belonging is made clear.
